Perils in the Dark Genshin: Quest Walkthrough and Objectives

Perils in the Dark is one of the most memorable chapters in the Chasm Delvers world quest series in Genshin Impact. Players must navigate through the subterranean depths of The Chasm to clear dark miasma and unlock ancient mechanisms. This guide covers every major objective, helping you solve environmental puzzles and defeat challenging foes efficiently.
Investigating the Dark Fog and Finding the Journal
To begin the quest, travelers need to venture deep into the Nameless Ruins to examine the strange dark fog. Interacting with the fog reveals that you must ring two distant bells to disperse the thick miasma. Nearby, players can inspect Fatuous logs and research notes to gain clues regarding the ancient mechanisms hidden in the ruins.
Ringing the Two Ancient Bells in the Ruins
Navigating to the first bell requires following a winding pathway to the northern area of the Nameless Ruins. Players must clear dark oozing concretions using the Lumenstone Adjuvant gadget before activating the energy nodes. Once the surrounding seals are cleansed, ringing the bell triggers a wave of shadowy enemies that must be defeated to lock in your progress.
The second bell is located in the southern section of the ruins inside a locked tower structure. Unlocking the pathway involves guiding Seelies back to their courts and charging Geo mechanisms with sufficient energy bars. After cleansing the remaining dark ooze, hit the second bell to trigger a short cinematic showing the fog lifting in the central cavern.
Defeating the Abyss Heralds and Claiming Rewards
Returning to the main central area allows players to confront two powerful Abyss Heralds guarding the area. Utilizing Elemental Reactions like Freeze or Vaporize will rapidly break down their elemental shields during battle. Defeating these opponents yields the Curious Cube and a Curious Map Pin item required for subsequent quests.
Completing this objective rewards players with generous Adventure EXP, Primogems, and Hero's Wit items. It also opens up the final chapters of the underground Chasm exploration, granting access to deeper chambers containing rare collectibles.
